Wheel Spacers
« on: July 12, 2009, 08:03:54 PM »
Ok so I finally have everything on the tracker. Its a 2001 2 door, I installed the RRO 2in. Body lift and Jeffs Spacer lift. I have my 31x10.50x15 inch mud terrains sitting in the garage. I guess im going to go with the factory 15inch wheels, what my question is who is running wheel spacers and what size? The place im getting them from goes up to 2inches and I dont know if that will be too much and make the front rub or not. Anyone have any experience with 31's and spacers let me know?

you can go 1.5" but most are just 1". I'm running 1" SpiderTrax spacers on my XL-7 with 265/70/16's, which is a 31" tire. I ran 1.5" spacers on my GV with 245/75/16's. Both will still rub somewhere, but of course not as much as they do now. the 1.5" spacers get the tire far enough from the frame to where is whouldn't but there any more, but you might catch your firewall because of the increased swing circumference of your tire.

Quick question..during the time you ran your wheel spacers on your xl-7 and GV, did you run into any problems with your front end/wheel bearings? I just replaced my driver side and passenger side hub/bearings on my GV and I wanted to install 1" spidertrax spacers with my 245/70/16 (they touch the frame a bit, already have a 1" coil lift) but don't want to wear out my front end too quickly. Thanks in advance.

I've had no issues on either vehicle.
