So, my airbag light came on a year or so ago, and I finally decide to see about getting it fixed.   Mech swaps out the obvious (and inexpensive) parts, and no joy.   Airbag controller gone.   He gets one from a junkyard, but it has more pins and a somewhat different plug than the old one does; don't fit, so don't work.  A little research, and mechanic thinks that my base model (no air conditioning, no nothing) has a different controller than more upscale model.  To date, we have been unable to locate one of these down-scale controllers via the usual junkyard method.   G.M. wants nearly $800 for the stupid part.

So, anyone have any idea where I might be able to lay hands on the correct part for a more reasonable fee?
