01 2WD
« on: October 21, 2008, 07:17:23 PM »
HELLO ALL. I AM NEW TO THE FORUM. I AM LOOKING AT A 2WD 2001 2DR WITH A 1.6L TO USE FOR HUNTING, FISHING AND POSSIBLY EVERYDAY DRIVING. DOES ANYBODY OWN A 2WD. I IMAGINE THE MILEAGE WOULD BE GREAT, RIGHT? ANYTHING I SHOULD SPECIFICATELY LOOK AT 1ST. IT HAS 205'S ON IT SO IT DOES HAVE SOME GROUND CLEARANCE. WILL IT STILL GO OKAY ON SOME LOGGING ROADS BEING 2WD?

205's really aren't giving you much ground clearance. As far as the logging roads go, I can only say that here in Wisconsin, I have no problem most of the time in 2WD on the logging roads. Add a locking diff back there and you'll be amazed at how far it'll take you! When you need tires, 225's on my 01 4door Tracker 4x4 didn't rub at all, the 235's only rub at full lock in front or full compression in the rear, much better ground clearance.
