gas tank lift
« on: December 25, 2005, 12:59:26 PM »
i put a 3 1/4 inch body lift in, and have now decided  that i need a gas tank lift. am going to cut out my two rear crossmembers and weld in new ones as they are rusted, but what the heck am i supposed to do with these two solid metal lines? do i just need to buy new rubber to hook up to them or is there an easier way? thanks

where the metal fuel line bends out 90 degrees from the frame, bend back straight, so it is pointing staright up. the tank should be ableto be lifted and clear these lines. i then cut some fuel hose to the length needed, and put some metal clamps on the hoses to the tank.

i was just worried that the metal 90's would kink from being bent.  has this happened to anyone?

I pulled as much of the steel pipe up threw the plastic clip that holds it to the chassis and then bent the end to about a 45 degree angle then replaced the hose with slightly longer ones just to make it easier to get them on.
