Parking brake light
« on: August 05, 2005, 02:45:16 PM »
Other than the switch on the parking brake handle, what else would cause the brake light on the dash to stay on?  I checked the one at the handle, and took the wire off and grounded it myself and it still stays on....

Low brake fluid will cause the light to come on.

If you have ABS, then the RWAL computer will light the bulb to indicate a code can be extraced.

Electrical tape will fix that in 2 min flat ( over the light ) ;D ;D

I would check the fluid level & the wiring from there first

I guess I should have mentioned that...It's an 89 Sidekick so no ABS, and I have bled the brakes, so I know the fluid is ok.  I have checked the parts of the wiring I can see it all seems ok, haven't traced it down...I was hoping there was something stupid I was missing.  Possible that the sensor could be bad that detects fluid level?

Looks like I might just lean towards the electrical tape.... ;D

I have the same problem. If I turn my tracker off and turn it back on it goes out.
