A question...
« on: August 04, 2005, 01:38:48 PM »
I had posted this a good while ago in the GV section and it got overlooked. Guess I should have put it here to begin with.  :P  I'd like to get an exhaust system for my Tracker, at least a header and muffler, though a cat back would be nice too. I had emailed Calmini a while ago and they said there are no plans to make a header and/or exhaust system for the newer style 4cyl Trackers/GVs. So I'm wondering... since it's the same 1.6, is there any possibility that I could use the header and/or exhaust system that they make for the older Track/kicks? Is it possible to modify it to fit?  Otherwise it seems there's not much choice out there besides Calmini.  :(

BTW, - sorry for the repeat question.

Has it got the tube type header or the cast iron one?

If it has a tube type then I would just back it up with a good exhaust usinig a hi flow cat.

2000. The 2.0 was optional on the first year I think.

I think it's the cast iron one. It  seems to have the right color, but I can't see much of it under the heat shroud.

Maybe take the time to remove the heat shield and see what header you have.

Might save you some money and heartache.

And don't worry about the exhaust, 'any' shop should be able to custom build you whatever you want for pipe. Unless you can weld fairly well and have the time to waste on shop time and waiting for your setup to ship from wherever, going to a muffler/exhaust shop is the best option!
