Well befor I can to any upgrades to my sidekick I need to fix the bugs first.  Some of you may remember me with the starting problem after installing a Rad.  Got that fixed by bypassing the alarm system.

Well when I got it the signal was fine.  Then it starting buzzing when I fliped the left signal.  Like the swithc was not switching over.  Well now if the signal arm is in the center position it just buzzes and heats and smokes.  So I can only drive with out smoke if the signal is in the left or right position. 

Need to know how I can either replace or fix this switch.  I have the steering colum cover off and can se the switch casing but it looks like I have to pull the steering wheel off to get the switch off.  Does the casing and switch come out without having to do this?\

i just replace the switch in my 4 door.  yes you have to pull the steering wheel(big job if you don't have the right tool).  i'm not sure if this can be fixed while its still in the truck.  i didnt bother and just replaced the whole thing.  but if its smoking you might have problems else where.  manbey some wires chafed(sp) though and it sends power though that wire when switched on?  but most likely you can just replace the whole switch(its the head light control, blinkers and windsheild wipers).  it dosn't take long if you have a steering wheel puller.  just get another switch from the junk yard.

THe same thing happend with mine. You have to replace the whole switch. And yes you have to pull the steering wheel. THe switch ran me for a brand new one 370 bucks. ITs the head light wiper turn single everything.

Thanks for the input guys.  I was able to get one shipped from Surrey for 125 wich is not too bad.  I can get a puller for the steering wheel.  Just gota find out how to remove the horn cover so I can mount the puller.   

I am sure I can figure it out.

One thing though.
Do the wires use a plug for the switch or are they saldered in.  Hopfully just a plug because that would really suck.

The steering collum switch cluster includes the turn signals and wipers as well as the hazzard switch. The harness of wires just unplugs about 6 inches down the shaft. To get the horn button off, just pull it off, it should just snap out of the center of the wheel. As for the steering wheel puller, I never needed one to pull the wheel on either of my Trackers. I just removed the big nut in the center and then wiggled the wheel right off the shaft... I would give it a shot before going and buying a wheel puller... you might not need it...
