23 mph before the lift and 31' tires and much abuse,
Now it gets 18-20 around town, about 16 highway (it has to work real hard to maintain highway speeds).  While running mostly trails, not the rocks, I still get about 18 MPH.  It's an odd little duck, but seems to run better as soon as I leave pavement.

I've been trying do decide if I want to get a newish Jeep or not so I've been researching their gas milage.  Their 4 is lucky to get 20 mpg on a stock vehicle and the 6 gets more like 16 mpg.  I will be staying with Zuk's at that rate!  My Tracker with emissions issues gets 19-20 mpg in summer but can go as low as 15 in the winter.  2 newer ones (99+) I've driven both got around 24-25 mpg.

I only get 20 average with my near stocker...  I need a new O2 sensor and I beleive the exhaust is shot, perhaps that makes the difference.

i am not sure any more what mine is last year i used to do 350km on 33-35 litres now I seem to never get over 300kms but mostly I drove around town with flat tires and a bad o2 sensor so now I have pumped up the tires to 28psi (not 16 anymore) I am running 235's and a straight 2inch exhaust no cat . just replaced the O2 and now I will see what it is. but I will admit I am heavy on the skinny pedal. I am very binary on these things full on or full off.

The "new" 96 with stock tires get 25.5 average, mostly highway. BUT, the TCC isn't locking correctly, and I have an EGR issue.. it might increase a little when I get those things ironed out.

I think there is a conspiracy, as my full size 96 Lincoln Town Car got 25, with a 4.6, and my F-150, with nearly the same motor as the Lincoln, and about the same weight, gets all of 16...... lol...

Who knows what the "Turtle" gets... something like a weekend on a tank, with some left over.. lol...

mine has the 8 v motor. for a while it got 24to 25, then after I tuned it up (new spark plugs, o2 sensor, exhaust manifold, and cherry bomb muffler(not as loud as I had expected)) it got about 26 to 28, and one time while I was driving in the mountains, I saw 29 mpg. Probably the worst I have seen was 17 or 18, but that was when it was running on 3 cylinders . the tires I have are 215/75r15s

My '98 Sport gets a consistent 33 mpg on the highway, a bit less climbing mountain passes, a bit more downhill.  That is driving 55 to 60 mph.  It is a stock 5-spd, with slightly larger than stock tires.  Sure appreciate that kind of mileage with gas prices where they are.  Trouble is, the wife would rather run it around than her Nissan pickup.

when I get my 32s on and a spool it will prob be 15 MPG

My new Sunrunner 16v is at 28mpg now that I have the 235-75's on it. It was getting close to 30mpg with the stock 205-75's.  A huge improvment over my 92 8v on 30-9.5 getting 17/18mpg.

1990 8 valve  automatic 3 spd with 5.125 gears with 31" trxus tires gets 20MPG or 11.5litres /100kms .mostly highway

i have a 92 1.6l 8v auto, with 235/75/15 tires and 5.125 gears, i have been getting around 28 mpg. the best i have seen is 31.
