Which oil filter do you use?
« on: November 20, 2003, 07:27:51 AM »
I just bought my truck and got an oil change the day I bought it home.  For years I always used QS oil and filter without problems.  For some strange reason, I have what appears to be lifter noise above 2k rpm.  I remember the article on oilfilters and QS is basically the fram, which is bad m'kay, so which do you guys use.  Pennzoil good?  Motomaster?

Don't use Motomaster, they are made by FRAM.  You can check the back plates on them and see.

Go to Canadian Tire and buy the K&N HP-1002.  It'll cost almost $20, but it's the best oil filter on the Canadian market.

As for oil, I only use Mobil 1.

I like the Dark Blue Purolator.  I noticed a difference with the Check valve and idle time.  Much nicer warm up time and i feel better about that.

Haven't used a Napa/Wix yet does it also have a Check valve?

I use Suzuki Genuine Products (SGP).  Never a problem there.
