Talk to me about Snorkles
« on: November 23, 2003, 12:00:50 PM »
I spent a day this weekend at an offroad park here in MI.  The group I went with included 2 TJ's, 1 YJ, 1 Amigo, a fullsize F150 on 35's and me.  With the locker (and a little help from the Zuk Gods) I went everywhere they did.  I yanked one of the TJ's out twice.
It rained all week and the holes were DEEP,  on top of the low hanging Alt I worried about hydrolocking the whole day.

I know there must be homemade and ready to go systems out there.  Anyone with any thoughts on either pro or con?

BTW there was a lot of people asking how I could run in the stuff I did.  My answer was the same to all,  you have to be stupid to get this thing stuck.  If I had a dollar for everytime I've said that. ;D

TIA.

91 Tracker.

I looked at a couple online last night.  Looks like $225.00 will get one + shipping.  I would have 10+hours of time just trying to figure out what parts I need then I would cut the hole in the wrong place.  Probably better off just buying one and using there instructions.

Along with Diff(s), T-case, and tranny vents any other easy ways to seal this thing up?  I'm so worried about the alt, and at $125.00 a shot there not cheap.  Why oh why did they hang it off the bottom?!.

I built a custom one that you can't see from the outside and it didn't cost me anything.   if you have a soldering gun, battery strap, zip ties, silicone and a way to cut a hole in thin metal then you can make it too.  I can give instructions if needed.  lata stu
