Soft top for rear door access
« on: December 14, 2003, 04:40:42 AM »
I previously had a '00 Tracker conv't where the rear door could be opened without messing with the rear window. I've only heard that you have to 'unclip' the rear window from the door to open it in the very early years.

I'm wondering is this the way it is for all the previous years till when the 'Vitara' platform came about?

My 89 has to be uncliped, my 97 does not. I think they went to the new style top in 94 :-/

My 96 does not need to be unclipped to open the back door.

My Vitara (old Track/Kick shape) has a Bestop top (fitted as OE) the rear door can be opened seperately. Also the side windows are removeable which is really cool in the summer. If you need to hide from the sun a bit you can drive it with the roof up but all the windows down/out and still get that top down feel.
