Now I dont feel so bad, even with the mystery rattle in my engine that I cant find.   Kinda sounds like detonation, comes when I press down on the throtlle.  Good gas and timing retard didn't help.  I guess its 4 on the floor for me then. thanks.

Daily I sit about 60-75% for over an hour each way...when I'm pulling my bike trailer I have it matted for up to three hours at a time...over 12hrs WOT one day...runs great...sure gets crappy mileage when your resting the accelerator on the floorboard though  :o

I've driven my Gv over 110 mph, and that's not taking into consideration that the speedo is off and reading about 10% too low.

Ahhhh, V6. ;D

I have stock tires so i dont' have the gearing problems.  But i've done 120 in mine.   Was traveling from outside bend to Burns area in oregon on my way to the steens..  I was doing 80-90 up hills and 120 down...  it took some time and reving to the max.

I got up to 140 on a slight decline in nevada by Walker lake.  that was quite a shakey ride.

But sometime i do just lack power and feel i should be getting more.

Ok, lets try again.  I know it likes to rev, it doesn't always sound like it does but she likes it.  We are still talking about the truck.  Will she take full throttle for an hour each way  for months on end?

A Definate Yes 8)
I commute 1000 miles a week and have been driving 1.6L Suzuki motors for years. I do not believe in slow on the interstate. I run my daily driver (98 X-90)at 75-90 mph 200 miles a day, foot to the floor from zero to cruising speed (however fast trafic will allow me to go). That means most of the time my foot is planted on the floor unless I'm going down hill and/or have a tail wind ;) I currently have 120K on my X-90. The only thing I have had to do is a clutch and now a transmission. (see Been Stranded? therad)
My Kick (pic to left) Has over 200K on it and I have driven it the same way since 36K. I'm running 33x12.50's and still hammer it to the floor untill I reach cruising speed (75 mph on interstate). Holding 75 mph with 33's also requires holding it to the floor most of the time while going up hill 5th gear.

I also drove a 97 2wd tracker for years, the same way with no trouble. With a little maitnance these Zuk motors are bulletproof 8)

Wide open every where I go.  I have 1.0 ltr and I live in rural upstate Ny(as opposed to metropolitan upstate Ny).  Besides not having a big engine keeps me from getting tickets.

Haha. it's true, my foot is on the floor almost all the time!!  The little 1.3 doesn't even think about performing until you get into the 3500 - 4500 rpm range, then she starts to put out. I never shift below 4k, otherwise it's no fun.... (of course it helps to be going downhill and have a tail wind.. then you might see 75+ mph)

Suzuki is known for high-rev engines (how many rpms do racing bikes do??? 12K???) I wouldn't worry about the rpms, guys. I think the fact that she wants to idle at 2K as opposed to 800 like most other cars is a clue that you can go higher than average... 8)

Well this thread is good news,  I just got my head back from the machine shop and #3 exhaust valve was burnt so bad part was missing.  #4 wasn't seating around 75% anymore either.  The mechanic doing the work claims it's the WOT on the Hi-way for 1-2 hours when on a trip is what killed it.

I should have some more power now,  it seemed down on power but from 80 to 65 horse is hard to tell! :o

It was almost worth the expense for the job just to get the mud, sticks , and leaves out from between the Rad and A/C condenser.

Depends how far I have to go. The further I travel the more I push it. After an hour or so its usually foot to the floor 70mph uphill, 90mph downhill (speedo reading). Curiously it always seems to loose power after 2 hrs. Doesn't seem to be so much mileage related and it doesn't overheat. Only thing I can think of is a build up of heat in the ECU or the fan coming on.

if no one is blocking my way on the highway i usaly hit 5th speed to a max of 100 to 110 km/h  and if suddenly it starts going upwards my rig slows down to about 60 to 70 km/h loosing lots of power tryn to climb that long hill :\
need more power my 31`s are killing the motor lol

On every road trip I take in my tracker I run wide open. 18 hours straight on the way to moab last year. I drafted chunk most of the way untill the down hill streches, then Id pass cause his super duty cuts out at 96 mph.

Depending on weather conditions, I usually travel at 120 KMS per hour on the highways.

I think you may want to check your idle circuit. It should be set at 600-800 rpms for warm idle. Sometimes the cold idle adjustment is too high and it will hold the carb at a higher idle even once it warms up.
