I'm having trouble with my 2004 grand virata 2.5 v6 4wd front diff not engaging and the 4wd light turn on when I disconnect my air pump actuator and I seem to get constant power to the red and pink power not sure where to go from there I had a clutch job done before it stopped working but the shop is really far I would like to fix it myself

First place I would check is the 4WD switch on the transfer case - make sure it was reconnected after the clutch job.

Next - the pump should run if you have constant 12V power on the red wire, so let's take a look at that - remove the pump from the vehicle so you can bench test it - connect the black wire to the battery negative and the red wire to the battery positive, the pump should start & run, if it doesn't, it's defective, if it does, cap the outlet with your finger, the pump should stop, and restart when you remove your finger.

Thank you for the reply I'm going to check the switch on the transfer case tomorrow I have 2 pumps and both of them work but only if I connect the pink and the black on negative and the red on positive I don't know if that is normal operation for the pumps from the troubleshooting I've done today its probably the switch on the transfer case I just have to find it :/

how in the world do i access to tc switch? to i have to drop the tranny

Update transfer switch is in the transfer case... I need a how to trouble shoot transfer switch...

Find the connector and check for continuity to chassis ground when 4H or 4L is selected.

fixed it !!!!! mechanic bent my tc switch pin inside the connector

i will be posting more pictures this week on how to access transfer case switch for future noobs
