Just bought a 95 Sidekick cheap, with the 16 valve auto for a mild offroader for the kids.  Had it towed to the shop, and it has a very strong gas smell in the oil.  First thought is to replace the fuel pressure regulator, but what other things should I be checking. 

Obviously going to change the oil, and replace plugs while I'm in there.
