I have a stock 95 Suzuki sidekick, today while using the left blinker, smoke started pouring out behind the steering wheel. The car likes to make continuous blinker click sounds while driving and the left blinker has been "glitchy" for a couple months now. I noticed that there is a computer chip right behind the steering wheel under the housing. That's what seems to be melting. Can't find anywhere what that chip is for, of if it is just a chip that connects all the wires together. Can't open the case around the chip is screwed together and I can't take it apart without taking off the steering wheel. Also wondering if I cut the airbag wire or take the steering wheel off if the airbag will deploy. Any help is appreciated, I've never seen this problem before.
