4.24:1 Low Kick Xfer Case
« on: April 01, 2004, 12:26:31 AM »
I just realized, that with my new 4.24:1 transfer case gears in my Sidekick, 1st gear high is almost exactly the same gear ratio as 5th GEAR LOW, and that 4-lo third is now lower than the original 4-lo first.

Yowie!

Kinda sucks when you only pay $2500 for your car and put 5k into it ;-)

Must be nice.  I paid $2,950 for mine, and probably have ten grand in it at least.

Dang, just started adding, and it looks like more than 11 grand...    :o

I dont think I want to add it all up. I love it and would not change a thing, but I bet the total would be scary.

You'll love it.

The only down fall to mine was driving in sand.  Stock "lo" gears were perfect!

I drive most all of the sand now in 2wd "Hi" now.  Only one hill I can't do that with and it's only by a couple of feet.   I just can't make it to the top???

So, 4 lo, locked, and 6 grand, I'm always over the top!  Well, almost always.  ;D  Every once in a while it will take a second try.

I love sitting at the top of "Test/Challenge Hill" and watch all the other trucks "try" to make it up!  ::)
