Does anyone know what the spring rate is for the BDS 4dr front & rear springs & how long are they.  I have been told the stock spring rate for the 4dr is about 500lbs, would like to know if the longer springs in the BDS kit is the same spring rate as stock, or more.  I have found some 4 1/4" O.D. ( same as stock ) 500lbs 14" long, flat ground top & bottom which can be cut if needed. 
Any help on this.

I've got the BDS Springs on my Sidekick. I'm guessing the rate is quite a bit higher than stock, as it rides noticeably stiffer. I don't know the number, though.

Just got a e-mail back from BDS & they said that there spring rates for the 2dr kit is 340lbs front & 280lbs rear
that seams to be a little soft when everyone is going with the ranger |removethispart|@ around 500lbs for the front & the jeep rears.... I don't know what they are.

Correct the front needs to be around 500 and the rears 125 or at most 150, I found on my kit that 150 is a little stiff still,I have 200 on the rear but I have a little trailer that I use and when we are out camping I fill the back with fire wood.I use F.O.A springs.

Thanks for the feedback... I am looking into some Eibach Off-Road Silver coil over springs.   There a 3"I.D. with a 4.25"O.D. ( same as stock, so no clearance problems ) and 14" in length with a flat ground top & bottom, I can cut a little off the bottom to fit into the spring grove in the A-arm, and they have a 500Lbs rate, they have a 12" 500Lbs which is 2" longer then the stock don't know if that will give me a true 2" lift or not.  In a 125Lbs for the rears they only have it in 12", so do you think that the 2" difference and the bigger rate will give a 2" lift, I know that the rear is lighter then the front, so not as much sag under weight.

This is sorta related to the subject, I am also needing to swap out some rear springs and my question is this:

The stock rear kick springs and shocks have approx 10" of travel. I have a 4.5" lift and my current rear shocks have just about 14.4" of travel, so I should  be looking for approx a 14.5" spring in 125lb?
And seeing that length isnt available as is, would it be better to go with a 14" 125lb spring(and maybe a limit strap) or a 16" 125lb'r and cut it to fit?  Does this make sense or am I missing something?

A 14" 150 only gives you 3"of lift but will drop out 4"s or so ,16" 150s only give you about 4 3/4" . We are putting 16" 125s on the back of the AUDI KICK to lower the height a little but still give it a good amount of drop out , for a nicer ride . Will up date after we put the other springs on.

There talking about articulation. Since the spring Is longer but softer 16in 125lb rate instead of 14 150. It will compress more under the weight of the vehicle then the 150. But when weight is relived it allows the wheel to articulate downward more. IE drop out

I am running lifted YJ springs (should be 175 lbs) in back, with pig tail cut off and crimped to fit bucket.  I like the ride, but have very little drop out, and have to use limiting straps to retain the springs.  So your information will be helpful.

TJ, not YJ.  YJ's use traditional springs instead of coil springs.  :)

 the ride will also depend on how stiff the valving in the shock are also , thats one of the pro's fox shocks is that you can change the compression and rebound, the bad side for most is the price , but there is a pro to that also that they are rebuildable for about $25 a shock and you can get replacement parts without buying a new shock.

We put Greg's 125lb 16" springs in the rear and he likes them . set the ride height the way he wanted and lowered it 1 3/4"
