The Abortion Project
« on: October 03, 2012, 11:57:45 AM »
So here's my life story in brief:

The name is Heather, live in the suburbs of Vancouver, BC, daily drive an original lowered VW Vento GT and I love the outdoors. Used to have a Pathfinder (yeah I know, we all gotta start somewhere) but after pushing the thing to the limit and destroying the frame, it was time to get a new wheeler project.

A life long friend of mine is a Sami enthusiast, and had several projects on the go.  This one was his original project until he got his hands on a few more Samis and a Toy.  His interest started to fade from this once trail worthy truck.  He had bought it from the original owner, who bought it new, and built it up to his spec.  My friend, then enjoyed the rig up until he blew the spark plugs right out of the original motor - it was bored 40 over. LOL. He then put another motor in the Sami and she was trail worthy again.  After a couple of months, and it passing Air Care, he then decided that he would take this motor out, and put a 1.3L fuel injected into it. So he started the dis-assembly. Well, lets just say that he got side tracked with the Toy, and this thing was then neglected.

So at a wicked price - i feel like I pretty much stole the thing, here's my 86 stretched Sami 1.3L Carbed, YJ leaf conversion, and custom rear toy driveshaft.  At this point, the short term goal is to get the motor running, as it was basically disconnected, transmission and transfer case were taken out as well as some other odds and ends.  In about 2 months, I will have a spare motor, as well as the original motor that blew the spark plugs out the top. This build is MY build, with help when needed.  I don't want someone else building MY rig, I want to know everything I can about it.

Here's some pictures of my Abortion:

I have one tire on the front that was on a mustang, 2 stock sized tires, and 1 other random tire. It is pretty funny looking for sure, I'll eventually have 33s on it, wishing i could throw some 35s on it
