no help? this is the last time ill bump this topic
i was thinking front yjs might actually be better seeing as how the front samurai springs are worse than the rears... but my back end already looks lower and this'll make it worse
main question though: are there ANY cheaper places, and if i just install one, would you go front or back?
last try on this topic, thanks
Andrew

if price is your main consern then you might try running rear spring up front this is a whole lot cheaper than a yj kit. i have no idea what it rides like though.

when i had rancho on mine the back also sat lower than the front i put a 1" lift shackle on the back and it made it look better. the yj kit will give you probably 2" to 3" more  lift so if you do just put it on one end it will look worse. i would save some money and do both.

I am very interested in hearing more on this topic as well..

I would love to hear from someone that has ridden in many lifted samurais that can give us a comparison between the different springs.

1. OME Lifted Springs
2. YJ Conversion
3. Rear Up Front - Rear in Rear
4. Rear UP Front - CJ in Rear

I am mainly interested in the difference between the Yjs and the OME.  I believe they would be the best ride..

In your case with trying to save some money, maybe you could go YJ upfront, and leave your rears but do the add-a-leaf and longer shackles to balance out the height?  I believe the fronts will make more of a difference in how your truck rides than the rear would..

I just unbolted my RRO YJ front so I could weld on my frame ext. and do a S/R. I will peddle you a brand new unused YJ front kit for $125 if you want the OTT stage 1 crossover steering I'll get rid of it to $110.... you will ned some sort of steering fix if you go YJ. All of it has been painted and bolted on but never used. ;)

I have owned all but the OMEs on my own trucks, I'd take the YJs over anything else, even with Rancho RS5000 shocks, it rides smooth as hell. The next best thing would be to use the modified rears up front (88.5 up won't live long like that) with the CJ or YJ springs in back. Just look at the sammy like some kind of modular extension of you, if you don't like the results of a mod you did to it, try something else, you'll get there eventually.

oooh i thought this topic was done with, but its BACK ;D
did you have any problems with the new bolt on hangers ripping/twisting/breaking off?
i heard to do it right it must be welded, im not planning on baja racing this or anything (not like they do that with samis), but i dont want to make a weak link.
ummm ya, as of now im thinking rears up front with yjs in the rear, im not looking for lift, just smoother riding..

I didn't have any problems with them at all with a constantly overloaded sammy on 33s with a sammy trailer on 33s being towed all the time.
The big thing is to make sure you follow the directions carefully, not too picky, but just a good idea.
