Sidekick Fender Flares?
« on: June 18, 2012, 07:17:38 PM »
Putting 12.5" wide meats on the zuki.  Looks like a minimum 4" flare is needed.  Anyone have any ideas like to share?  THX

Couple....there used to be an old body kit that was made for sidekicks that had wider fenders front and rear. It might hce been made by bushwacker but not sure..

Also there is a guy in san Diego that makes F&R  fenders and  hood out of fiberglass that make the kick look like a mini desert truck..

Last but not least there is the vinyl floor trim that people bolt to the inner opening of fenders. By far the cheapest

bushwacker flares... those are 31 10.5 or 11.5 LTB on a 2.5" backspaced 8" wheel and they are almost covered...

here is the fiberglass kit.. kind of half to do it all for it to look right and I think it's about a grand for all the parts..

Most of the fiberglass kits came out starting back in 92' or so untill about 95'ish, but they didnt sell that well at all and were dropped for the most part when the second gens came out.

Currently I have a set of flares that I imported from England.  Shipping was as much as the flares.

Where did you get the fender flair panels? Any thoughts of pulling a plug from them???

I traded them for a stock rear Tracker diff right here on the forum believe it or not. I have thought about making molds but that would be an awful lot of work and you know how the Tracker crowd is.  Lets just say they are extremely thrifty.  I doubt that I could get a fair price for copies. There is a guy in England that has done exactly by making fiberglass copies.  I think he is having trouble selling them to recoup his expenses.

Neat Product, they look really cool for the beach / sand dunes but I don't see those lasting very long on the side of my truck. I like to squeeze through trees. If it weren't for that I could probably justify the expense.
