1.3 Samurai Rebuild
« on: April 17, 2012, 07:48:14 AM »
Well guys I decided about a month ago that it was time to rebuild the tired old 1.3 in my sami just so I can have it for a few more years. I orderd my engine rebuild kit from LowRange which took a week to ship, so I pulled the engine and started tearing it down and cleaning everything, I picked up a few other things while I was waiting on the kit. Here's prettt much where I'm at:

By the way, no engine hoist!

got it pulled apart and this is what my pistons looked like

the head

pistons and rods

block

new pistons

some duplicolor bed liner and some krylon

some engine enamel

Also made my own catback exhaust with 2" pipe and a thrush welded muffler

Now I know it's not a professional job, but hey I'm 18 and I'm just getting it where I want it

Nice work,be careful with the way you lift it comes back and bites you later in life. But be young and enjoy it.
I'm Disapointed
We were supposed to have flying cars by now...

Looks good, like the painted motor parts. Divn is right, you may be humping that engine now, 20 years  from now you'll wish you at least had a friend help
The usual stuff, and 2nd generation Air to liquid intercooled TURBOCHARGER
