88 hunting rig
« on: April 05, 2012, 07:13:09 AM »
I figured i would post a few pics of my 88 sammy, not done but done enough to drive, i built a cab for it, welded it on and made a window for it, kept part of the soft top and bottoned it on the back of the new cab, i hinged the tail gate to drop so i can load the hounds in the custom dog box i also made/powder coated for the truck, made some 2"shackles just to clear some 235/75/15". and made the brush gaurd/winch plate. welded suports under the hood to hold a few dogs up there, and powder coated with a grip type powder to keep them from sliping off the hood. got a list of other things to do, but short on time right now.

i think it should stay pretty warm in the cab, dogs on the hood to stike game, everyone wheels or hunts from  toyotas, not my cup of tea....  my 4 door ford sucks down the gas so i thought this would be a good idea to use a samurai, im liking it so far, would like to lift it alittle more, but dont want to with out gears. my goal was 20mpgs in the woods, i think its real close to that.
