sprung over on rears up front. missing link rear, american racing wheels, wheel spacers, driveshaft spacers, breeze steering, 8000lb winch, front and rear bumpers with tire carier. new soft top, new seats, new guages, 1.3L bored out with a header, weber carb, flowmaster exhaust, msd ignition.
tub is rhyno lined inside,no rust, hella lights, new headlights,TJ flares, 32x11.5 bfg 's,
it is getting  interior cage, my cb, and new front bumper.
i'm sure i have mised things.
Thanks Jay, Yeah, That's pretty sweet. I'm curious, how much performance do you think you gained with the Weber? How about the MSD? I ran MSD (6AL) on an old Trans Am,and it seemed to work quite well, but I never thought about using it on a Sammy.

I like the half-top setup.
After swapping the soft top back on i really miss being able to lock it, how much quieter it was and the better visibility. The only bad part is the 2 person capacity.

Here's my constant work in progress. 88.5 samurai, started life as a standard WB but I made the body into a pickup cab and stretched the frame 2'.  34x10.5 ltb's, homemade coil suspension and bumpers, and a 10 guage (1/8") bed. 4.62 gears, welded diff rear Trail tough hybrid axle. Gets closer every time I get around to working on it........ hoping some time in the next year to be done.  :P

I like how just about everything is straight... except the hood.  :D

The back gives the rig an entirely different look.  Keep posting updates.

airwerks your rig looks quite a bit like mine! ;D

looking good with the stretched rear.
Do you have any additional gearing other than the 4.62 R&p?

Mine is a dog on road with 4.10 R&P with a 6.5:1 T-case.

I actually modeled the bed lightly off of a Kaiser M-715- I have a buddy that has one and I love it......

Amilia, Your sami caught my eye because that is exactly what mine looked like before I started chopping it up! My gearing is stock otherwise. I had a 16valve 1.6 in it that blew up, but it wasn't bad for power. Next engine setup in it is probably going to be a Mercedes turbo diesel out of a 240d- you can get entire cars for a little over a grand in my area.....

I also have a different hood for it.  ;D

Hello all, here is my 88.5 sam JX.

435k miles..

1.3L block, 1.6L 8v head with a calmini midrange cam and stronger valve springs.
Hawk TriY header, Weber 32/36DGAV, stock intake ported to match adapter. Block is bored .040" and milled down for 13:1 Compression. Bosch Platinum plugs and stock ND ignition. K&N air filter replacement in stock filter box.

The drivetrain is stock save for the transmission which was replaced about 200K miles ago and is in serious need of new bearings now and the clutch has been replaced 3 times I think since I bought it... Stock gears/case, open diffs.
15x10 KMC wheels with 235/75 dunlop mudders

Earlier this year I pulled this rig out of a 7 year retirement. I had forgotten how much fun it is to drive.

Right now I'm just working on getting it back to running and driving right, rebuilt the front knuckles and got the steering all fixed and aligned so it drives nice now.

Next things on the list:

New front seats, some body work, bigger alternator, transmission/tcase bearings/seals. front bumper/winch, lift springs and new bushings, new driveshafts and a locker for the front axle. Not necessarily in that order but that should all keep me busy for a while at least.

This little truck has amazed not only myself, but all of my friends that have gone on rides with me. I'm looking to pick up a few more of these trucks along as I can get the people around here to sell them...
