Cummings 4bt

This guy i work with recently gave me an idea to buy a scrap bread truck for around 1200 bucks take out the 4bt cummings turbo diesel and tranny to put into my samurai then junk the bread truck for 700 sounds legit but just wonderin if anyone has tried it and can give me any tips?

That engine is way to heavy and to much torque. it would tear it apart.

Well that kind of depends on how you build the rig. Doesn't it?????
 What is it your wanting in a Samurai???
At 1 liter per cylinder you might want to check into the 2BT (hard to find though)
 A 4 liter diesel of any kind is going to be a heavy unit.
IMO . I have never liked any diesel conversions for the Sammy. They just don't pencil out..........

I think you will be hard pressed to find a 4bt equipped bread truck for $1200.  They are a hot commodity.

The 4bt is a great engine, but too much in every way for a samurai.   That said,  good buy on the bread truck.   The 4bt shares tons of parts with the 6bt which means there are lots of performance parts as well as accessory drive parts from the Dodge trucks.   This would be a great engine to swap into a two wheel drive truck with the proper tuning you could get a couple of hundred hp and great mpg.
