Dash lights
« on: January 17, 2012, 10:06:20 PM »
After buying my 86 samurai I noticed that the sensor light and 4x4 light wouldn't come on. I pulled the gauges forward (not as much slack as I was expecting) and noticed that the sensor light and socket were completely missing, replaced the bulb and socket, it works. Im glad it worked cause i need to smog it soon.

Now the 4x4 light was all there, I replaced it, and assuming the bulb I put in was good it should come on, it doesn't. What would some other common causes of the 4x4 light not turning on be that I can check? Also, does the clock use the same type of bulb? I think it used to light up with the dash lights before and now its not. Now Im regretting not taking all of the gauge bulbs from the junk yard last time I was there.

Ill throw this other random question out there cause I was having a hard time finding the answer. What is the backspacing of the factory wheel? Oh, and part# for the center crankshaft bolt lol? I don't have a real suzuki dealer nearby only a joke of a gm dealer that can order suzuki parts.

If center crankshaft bolt you mean the one for the timing pulley - 12619-60B00 - and as far as I know the 4WD light is wired directly to a switch on the transfer case.

Yep. He's right. The 4wd indicator light is driven by a switch in the transfercase. Make sure it is pluged in . (to the transfercase that is)...Boxcar..
