That is alot of fabrication work, an adaptor needs to be fabricated to mount the engine to the trans, and then fabrication of engine mounts and then integration of the Ford wiring and ECU into the existing gen1 wiring.

Keep us posted on your progress!

Just my suggestion...

Get rid of the Ford engine and start looking for a Suzuki donor vehicle - in order of preference (my preference based on ease of swap), a 2.0 four cylinder Vitara or Tracker, a 2.5 V6 Grand Vitara or Tracker, a 2.7 V6 Grand Vitara XL-7 - note I say donor vehicle, not engine - the more pieces you have the greater your chances of pulling the swap off successfully.  At the very minimum, you want the engine with the ECU and the harness.

Your ability to successfully complete an engine swap is largely based on your ability to perform the work (assuming you have the skills), or to pay someone else who has the skills.

The 2.0 swap has been done and there should be kits available to make the job an almost bolt-in swap - both the 2.5 & 2.7 V6 swaps have been done by users here who can offer some guidance - if you go the Ford V6 you're going to have to find your own solutions to the different tasks - engine mounts, adapter plates to mate the transmission to the engine, intake, exhaust & cooling system plumbing, fuelling and ECU wiring.

Fordem is right on.

If you haven't done this before, breaking new ground on motor swap is going to test your resolve.
Take your motor number and check on internet on how to tell year of ford motor.  Then you will know what year you are working with.
Check wrecking yards for Ford year ECU's.  Also check for what wiring you can get.
Check with wrecking yards for Transmission and Transfer Case for you motor.  Probably will need the Transmission Control Unit, and possibly the Body Control Unit also.
Newer vehicles  have communication systems that will put Control Units into default if they loose communication with each other.

Having a donor vehicle means you the have everything available and at hand to make it work.  Whether you are blending the two systems together to make it work, or swapping everything from the donor into the receiver vehicle, it will take lots of wiring manipulation to accomplish the task.  The easy part is physically installing the motor & transmission TC, if you have jacks, jack stands, hoist or chainfall/comealong, torch, welder, etc.  Mating off manufactor motor & transmissions usually takes a machine shop, or hopefully a manufactored adapter.

Or go to a shop and say make it so.

Read through the Build Diaries, and pay attention to how long some of the builds take, and how many seem to just go smoothly.

I just passed on a great deal on a 2.7 motor, Trans., and TC because there was absolutely NO WIRING, and I have a set of  ECM, BCM, TCM for that model year.  And I have made that swap.  Getting wiring is a PITA.

Good Luck

You are entering uncharted waters with that "Fuked Over Rebuilt Dodge" engine swap, LOL. Sure there are large bulky v6 swaps that have been done, like the GM 4.3 builds and that would be the closest for you to emmulate. It sounds like your mechanic/fabricator should be the one posting up.

You are going to need alot of one-of parts, so I hope you have deep pockets.

Dodge's suck. Ford builds a better truck, maybe Cummins builds a better engine, but that ain't no dodge product either.

LOL, maybe modern trucks, but the old school powerwagons were awesome offroaders but big bucks to work on, chevys were a dime a dozen and spare parts everywhere(you were gonna need them), and Ford made a rock tough frame down but the bodies rusted quickly especially the boxs.

My favorite was the old early 50's dodge 4x4 ambulance truck i learned to drive with. plywood floors and all, LOL
