What would new car would you buy if there were no more trackers or sidekicks around?  Personally I would like something with live axles, but nothing new is built that I could like unless I import Indian samurai knockoffs.  Actually I just bought a 95 land rover discovery

needs to be brand new? i would get a 2 door jeep rubicon. still a fairly short wheelbase but with solid axles, lockers, push button sway bar disconnect, etc.

There is not a single vehicle that is currently available that I would ever consider purchasing new or even used for that matter!

If I could buy a brand-new Jimny, I would in a heartbeat. That's obviously not an option here in Oregon, USA. I'm a die-hard manual transmission driver. However, I personally can't afford a $30,000 4x4. So, I guess if I had to buy new, I'd go with another Suzuki SX4 AWD or possibly a Jeep Patriot; both would have a manual trans.

If I couldn't have had my Sidekick or any other Suzuki/Chevrolet product and I could go used, I would've went with either an older Mitsubishi Montero, a Toyota pickup, or possibly a Ford Ranger.

Luckily, there ARE plenty of Suzuki choices used!

If I couldn't get another solid used Trackick, I guess I'd take a good look at the Jeep Liberty, then try and figure a way to make it tough enough to stay together like my Tracker  I need a small rig able to squeeze through tight spaces. I do like the way they look, especially with a bit of lift and some meaty rubber. Probably less aftermarket support than for Trackicks though.

I would buy a Suzuki Jimny! I want one now!

I'd say you'd have to define new because there are just not many options "Brand New" anymore...
but as close as I can get, I'd take an imported land rover 90.. a last gen tacoma and convert it to live axle.. oorr a new jimny. But all of those require money for importing.
So I'd just stick with my 88 samurai :DD

That would be a sad situation for sure, but if that were the case, I would go back to a Toyota or Jeep 4x4 pickup.
