I just bought a 1990 2 Door Tracker at the start of September and it is almost ready for hunting season.  It started out as a university girls vehicle but I have it looking more the part of an off road hunting vehicle now.   Before: and I didn't pay what the tag says.Now:
I plan on getting some 235/75 r 15 mud tires this week.  It also needs an alignment since I just installed the Hoepker's 2" coil spacers in it.   The paint job was about 10 cans of Krylon Olive Drab plus primer.   It took me about 8 hours to get all the decals off, and a bunch more time to wash, sand, rewash and strip off all the parts before painting.   I am thinking of trying the Federal Couragia mud tires.  They are about the cheapest I can find around here.  I also have a JD2 bender at work and I plan on getting some tube bumpers made up real soon too.  It is my daily driver and so far I quite like it.   I have about 23 kms of back roads to get to work.  It can be a real adventure just getting down our roads in the winter and spring so the mud tires will come in handy just to get to work.

I have steel rims that were sandblasted and I have painted them olive drab too. They will go on when it gets tires.

You'll like the couragia mt. They are an excellent mud tire. Especially considering the price.

Ordered the Federal couragia MT tires today and will be here in a couple days.  I will post pictures when they come in. Also need to take it in for an alignment since I lifted it. I put in camber bolts but don't want to wreck new tires. I can start elk hunting on Monday so it should be ready for then. Also sewing seat covers out of olive drab canvas.  Don't laugh but I have to do my own sewing since my wife never learned how to sew and I've been sewing leather chaps and moccasins since I was a kid.

No shame in being self sufficient.

Back ages ago when I was in high school we had to take one shop and one home ec class. We would purchase the old frostline kits and make our own tents, sleeping bags and clothing. Then in the Navy I would spend alot of off duty time in the para-riggers shop repairing clothing, flight suits and making garment bags, overnight bags and alot of custom alterations and creating.

The more skills you have the better off you will be, though this does run counter to what todays society deems appropriate

With doing new covers for the seat, you may want to also add some additional foam to the seat. I just recently purchased some foam for a seat pad while flying sailplanes/gliders. The foam is a tempure type of foam and really increases sitting comfort for longer drives etc without alot of bulk. http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/e-a-r.htm
I use the 1" thick multi layer blue and pink for my flying seat cushion and just ordered another piece for the sidekick drivers seat. I have also found several seat cover replacements that sound and looks like they will provide a decent fit for the sewing challanged and will try one of them(though I probably will alter them, LOL)

When i reupholstered my motorcycle seat we used a gel insert, you could probably use the foam mentioned above and or use the gel for areas that may be painful, lower back, butt.

More pictures.  Got the new tires today, but they put the white lettering out even though I asked for black out, so I am going to get that changed later this week when I get time.  They also put 50lbs of air in the tires, so I need to let out some air to get it closer to the 23psi it calls for on my door jam. Got one seat cover done too, and a rear storage bag for the back door.
