`03 Tracker ECL
« on: August 03, 2011, 03:12:38 PM »
ZR2 V6 with about 70K miles. ECL came on with a code 0335, crank speed sensor. Moved the wiring around to see if any chafing and reran the code. 0300, random misfire. Light on solid at idle, blinks when at roadspeed. Changed the plugs and air filter, no change.
Is there really a programmed service light that comes on? This truck runs like a charm, even before I changed parts.
Any ideas folks?

My high mile 4.3 threw the same codes. It was a worn dizzy gear.

Doing some reading, the EGR  is on the list of possible faults with a 300 code. Anybody done the r/r and cleanup on one?

Took the truck to a shop. Put on a commercial code reader. Shows misfire on 1/3/5 and the crank pos' sensor. The tech said it could be the wiring or the sensor or the ECM. I'll start with a disconnect and basic testing and then remove parts until I can see or get my hands on the thing.
Anybody changed one? any tips?

Are you sure that it's not the CAM Position Sensor?  ;)
