not enough power

last weekend i was teaching my cousin how to drive a stick (my samurai) and i got him to stop on a hill which wasnt to steep so i could teach him how to stop and go up the hill with out rolling back and itt would just not pull up the hill but if i had just a little movment befor coming up the we could make it with no problem what should i do???

Get yourself a compression tester and do both wet & dry compression tests - that will give you an idea as to the general consition of the engine.

I taught mine in low range.
1987,1988,1988,1990 samurai's,  1953 m38a1,  1996 x-90,blue.1996 x-90 red.1994 2 door tracker.   only Dead Fish go with the flow.                No Hairy Nosed Wombats were ran over on the trail today.       My ZUK is Xenophobic.
