anyways...is there a "hot swap" for a larger fuel tank for the early kicks? mine is a 92. are the newer ones any bigger? (post 96) or maybe a sport one will bolt in?

You'd have to swap your whole car for a Sport model as the Sport's frame is about 4" wider than the standard model making the tank too wide to fit. Sport has 18 gallons. (I'm not trading mine)

Petroworks does a 15 gallon for the Samurai - give them a call, maybe they do one one for the SideKick as well.

How about straping a couple of Rotopax's on?

I'm looking for something more permanent and to fill the void between the floor and to of gas tank. (I have a 1" body lift{yuck})

I sure wish they did! I contacted them recently & asked if it can be adapted, what mods to mount it etc... They replied saying they don't know of any write-ups or how/if it can be done. No such luck.

I've played around with the idea of buying a new stock tank off ebay, they're under a hundred bucks, and sectioning it. By adding another 2 " of height in the middle, it would increase the capacity a couple gallons. Not much, but I've already got a 5 gal jerry can on my swing away so just a couple gals more in the tank would be cool. If you already have a body lift and didn't raise your tank too ( I did so not much room left ) you should be able to squeeze another couple inches upwards. I'd only do this to a new tank that's never had gas in it, but I really think it would work. 

I'd like extra fuel capacity too!

I was wondering about this possibility - if you do go this route - consider a "splash" or "slosh" sealer - it basically coats the inside of the tank with plastic which will help prevent the corrosion that inevitably occurs after the metal has been heated.

I sure coulda used the extra capacity on my trip out west, but no plans to do it anytime soon now. If I had some extra cash laying around to buy a new tank I'd probably do it. Good tip Fordem, I'd do that too.

were definitely talking about needing more capacity frequently, like every tank. theres SO many people out there with turbo motors or v6's the tiny stock tank just is not enough to get out (and stay out) and wheel!
it also would make good sense to fill that ugly gap between the top of the tank and floor bottom with extra range.
