You have to pull the transmission shifter housing off to get to that extra top transfer case bolt. After you remove it throw it away and you won't have to remove trans shifter again to remove transfer case. It can all be done in the car but getting the shifter housing bolts might be a little hard on your language.
thanks, it looks like there are three bolts holding it on- one at the back of the shifter which looks like a straight shot down from the hole in the floor tunnel, and one on each side of the front of the shifter- do you remember if that is all?
I am going to take out the t case of my 91 sidekick is their a gasket between the two cases?
