I have a Dealers shop manual for the early style Samurai's,
And the they have a repair section in it for A/C.

I have only seen a one early style Sammy with what looked like factory A/C,
It was a "Crashed" Tin Top in a Junk Yard on a Parts Safari.
But then up here in the land of the Frozen Tundra, A/C is a often skipped option!

I was going to say, my brothers old 87 had AC.  It was converted to on-board air though.  :D

My 87 has factory air, but the compressor is seized.  No belt when I got it.  I'd like to get in there and remove the condenser coil and all the plumbing, but retain the electric pusher fan.  Would it be possible to use the dash AC button to operate the pusher fan using existing wiring, or would I be better off installing a dash switch?  Also, if I remove the evaporater coil, will my heater work better?

My 86 has factory air. Still works ok, but I think you lose a lot of it thru the soft top. Still better than nothing.
