I would guestimate the stockers are around 15-17 PPH

According to my trust dusty GM Geo Tracker service manual for my '96  the fuel injection system runs between 30-37 PSI at idle.  The pump is supposed to put out up to 43 psi max w/ regulator disabled.

If you really want to know exactly what your fuel system is reading I recomend going down to your local GM dealer and ask them to order the fuel rail adaptor tool for you from KentMoore.   ???That is the company that they get all their special tools from.  The part number for the adaptor that will allow you to put your line end pressure gauge on is  J41041.  I don't know how much it costs but imagine that it would not be more than the cost of a 18 pack of your fav. frosty ones.

You remove the plug bolt from the end under the regulator and screw in the valve and your ready to put the gauge on and know what your pressure is exactly.

Haven't priced many specialty tools, have you? :P

Have you checked the colour of the plugs? that should show you if you have a faulty injector or a bad seal.

That won't tell you what the flow rate is.

Well Guess I stand corrected.   ???  That drawing didn't look like what was in my service manual but it is current on the pricing in the GM special tools cataloge as well.  May just have to tap and adapt for standard fitting.  As for the rates you are correct there as well.  I guess I have been out of the biz for too long now.

Hit your injectors with 12v, if they click then they are working.   Do NOT do this with an 8 valve, as you will break the injector.  As for the leaking on #1, your o-ring is most likely damaged or slipped off.  Autozone has cheap injectors available, or give Hawk Suzuki a call and they can send you some used ones.

Guys...question
does the top PLASTIC part of the injector do any kind of seeling? I snagged some escort injectors that are the same except for the plastic barrel at the top above the plug. I'm just going to file it down to match the old ones.

It's the rubber O-ring that seals the fuel from leaking, snap a pic and point out
what you are going to file down to make fit

Looks OK, it's the groove around the top that needs to be good to seal.

Use new O-rings if you have any doubts about the old ones

Going to get new O rings now. The O ring channel is bigger on the escort injector...would 2 O rings be safer?

The squeeze fit is what is important, 2 o-rings might not squeeze right and leak.

If you have to, just get thicker 0-rings, but the correct inner and outer diameter
to fit the injector and the fuel rail
