« on: March 17, 2011, 07:15:05 AM »
so I havent seen them yet but im getting some sidekick seats from a buddy to put in my samurai since my front seats a crap. from the pictures ive seen they are sitting on the seat lopsided. can I take the sidekick rails off and put my samurai ones on  so it sits flat in the samurai without having to cut up the floor mounts? anyone do this swap yet?

When I was rebuilding the iZook site, I noticed that there were a lot of different junk yard seat swaps covered in the tech articles over the years. It may be worth it to pop over there and take a look. http://www.izook.com There are many articles covering different seats and the Sidekick Seat install is covered too! http://www2.izook.com/?page_id=279

Depends on which ones you have, how much, and where you are.. I know of at least one person that would like a set of the JX or JLX 4-door seats. The grey cloth ones that came in 93-95 I think... Is that what you've got?

I have those in my Sami. I had to remove alot of the plastic flaring on the bottom to lower the seats or my head was bumping the roll bars. I am 6' tall.  I took the rails off completely and removed the mounting metal under the seats and mounted directly to the floor pushed all the way back.
Then I made some brackets for the front to tilt the seats back from front to rear. PERFECT
86 Sami STOCK!! but I just got started.

I just got some neon seats and really like the tracks. I think the drivers one will bolt right in but the passenger side wont.

can anyone post ways they have easilly mounted neon seats without swapping tracks?

Like I said, I just removed the tracks and bolted them straight to the floor as far back as they will go.

Why would you need to adjust them?

Nobody in the back seat, if you even have one, and who wants to sit closer to the dashboard? Especially when wheeling!  If you keep the drivers adjustment, passengers could always enter the back seat on drivers side, or just jump in over the back seat!!!
