Front Axle Spindle nut and retainer - where to buy?
« on: March 13, 2011, 08:34:48 PM »
New member looking for help.  Searched the forum and didn't find anything on this topic.

Took by dad's '93 tracker hub and front spindle assembly apart today to find rust and water damage.  One of the spindle nuts is shot and the retainer with the four small screws is rusted beyond use.

I've tried a bunch of the on-line parts catalogs and can't clearly identify the part number for the nut and retainer, let alone the four screws.

Anyone know the part numbers and where to get them?

Another question, the spindle case (if that's the correct name) that attached to the rotor and bearing housing and has the locking hub screwed to the outer end of it - I found this assembled without a gasket, just silicone.  I see that there a groove that looks like it's for an "O-Ring"  Should there be one installed here?  Know where to purchase it or the part number?

Thanks for the help!  I'm a regular on the snowmobile and Ford Diesel truck forums and hope that you can get me on track here.

Chief O out..

For hard to find parts Hawk Suzuki Parts can usually help you out.

Do you mean a C-clip instead of an O-ring?

No, an O-ring.  Appears to be about 72mm in dia.  I've seen parts breakouts that either show a paper gasket or an O-ring between the hub itself and locking hub assembly.

The dealer who serviced the hubs didn't use any gasket material, just used a sealer, so all I have to go by are parts drawings for this item.

Do you mean the gasket that is part 32616?  I usually just use some sealant.  Let it sit for a few minutes before putting it on so it can start to setup.

If your going to be using the hub in cold temperatures don't put any grease in there.  It can freeze up and cause binding.
