Spent the day still cutting out sheet metal to lighten the load and make more interior room. Still doing the design and engineering on the run. Trying to get the boat sides up as high as practical for the rock clearance. Made the call to get rid of the windows and track to accommodate the higher boat sides. Lexan with a fastening system will work.
I did a little research on the RZR 900 xp for the specs. Here how stock to stock compares...

                              Tracker                                             RZR 900xp
Track                       64.2                                                 64

WB                          86.6                                                 81.4

HP                           80                                                    88

Torque                      94 fp                                                N/A

Fuel                          11.1 gal                                            7.25

Weight                     2246                                                 1190

Travel                      6 front 8 rear                                      13.5 front 14.5 rear

As you can see cutting the weight down is the most important . Next is to increase travel, approach and departure angles and still have it be somewhat street legal! Good luck!!! I built a suzuki tube buggy that weighed in at 1468LBS and that was the lightest two seat car I could build at the time. This car I'm shooting for 1800 lbs ish. We will see. The new name for this build is the Trophy Tracker. By the time I'm done it will be all tube and new 4130 cromo A arms up front. Or maybe a solid front axle. Always a work in progress! ???

Here are the lower frame rails with the new tube frame plugged in and tacked in place. Im using a MIG to tack stuff together but the finished product will be TIG !

Ya, I got a chance to stop by and talk truck with Tim, real good down to earth
guy and quite knowledgeable about suspension design.

I expect to see some cool stuff flowing from his shop, we talked about and swapped
ideas and stuff, and what he has plans for building.

Thanks Tim, I enjoyed the visit and look forward to seeing your trucklet evolve

It will be interesting to see what he does with the suspension.
I would say all this work to keep up with a modified Golf Cart .   I had a couple of them BLOW past me in the last race.  :'(  - only because I had lost a spring.  They are not easy to catch, or stay with.

I spent the morning squaring the frame rails so I have a good reference point to work off of.

Then it was off to see how high to make the boat sides for good looks and to follow a clean body line.

Got my dimensions, off to cutting tube, set up, squaring and welding! Finally !!!

Then back to fitting and cutting away the body to make way to the new cage. worked on losing weight on the doors. The doors weigh about 8 lbs.

The new boat side cut allow for a much better pass through for the rocks.

I did a little trimming of the front fenders and got the body roughed out for the look I wanted !

End of day progress !

I haven't fallen off the planet, sure enough, as soon as I start my project, work comes in! I have motorcycle work to complete before I get back to the Trophy tracker! I knew this would happen, any time I start something work on, work pours in. Not complaining, its a blessing, But I was dead set on finishing this before April. At this rate, I might not get back to it until mid April. Anyway just a update!

I had a shop teacher once tell me that if i wanted to always have work to do that i needed to get a project vehicle of my own to work on in my spare time, cause then there will always be other work to do.lol
