Front wheel bearings
« on: January 25, 2011, 08:32:16 PM »
Would it be worth it to run sealed front wheel bearings? Is it possible? I'm not sure if they would last or not for highway usage, but surely they would hold up longer in mud and water.

front wheel bearings are sealed. ??? did you mean unit bearings or something?  you should have a inner seal and outer hub gaskets to keep the grease in.and unit type bearings definitely will not hold up as well in mud and water. once water gets in (it will) you cant get it out.

serviceable bearings are ALWAYS better than unit bearings IMO

I agree with jluck, a servicable bearing will last longer IF maintained properly, just ask wild, 300000 miles and counting. Besides I think only one type are available for our rigs.
