Pretty cool, sounds a lot deeper than my 1.6 with a 2" exhaust & turbo muffler. What are you running for a muffler/exhaust?
On the 1st vid, there's a tick or rattle noise going on that increases with RPM. Is it the timing chain noise? Normal, or...?
If ever I was to go as far as an engine swap, the 2.0l l4 would be my choice, but I'm not very familiar with them... yet.   >:D
Neat work!  8)

no muffler...just the factory 1.8l manifold downpipe and factory cat...i havnt decided on a muffler yet...as for the tick/rattle...its my serpentine belt tensioner..i need a new one,..as for motor choice,..yes 2.0 would be a better choice than 1.8l..although the 1.8l is the same as a 2.0l, only not punched out....i chose this 1.8l due to the fact that i got the entire donor rig (1996 sidekick sport 4x4) for free,..and my 1.6l was on its way out

Cool & good to hear the noise is something simple. Free is almost always a good motivator.
Gotta like the J series engines... well designed & efficient, big specs in small packages imo.
Again, neat work & thanks for sharing it.
