I have seen a Sami with one of the HarborFreight camo winches mounted to the tubular bar across the front of the frame and the front bumper was cut out to allow for operation of the winch.

I am thinking of a similar set up.  I will be useing my warn 3K ATV winch and I am think about running the controller through the fire wall and dash mounting it? Or maybe not???

Any suggestions for the actual attachment of the winch to the tubular bar on the frame?

NOTE:  I will not be doing heavy off roading with this Sami.  Honestly, loading the thing on a trailer will most likely all I will ever do with the winch. It is going to be an ornament for the front of my Sami, but I want it attached properly should I ever actually use it....

Should you ever actually need it, it probably won't get you
out of a bind, but it might help some.

As far as mounting, make sure it's welded to a sturdy frame
section, or at least bolted down good in sheer so bolt heads
don't pop thru the metal

For mounting the winch it is pretty easy to put a plate off of the frame.  You can cut and notch your bumper or just replace it completely, depending on how legal that is in your area.

A 3k winch is designed to be able to pull your rig on level ground, that's about it.  So make sure you bring a snatch block if your planning on actually using it, and that your line is rated high enough.

I have a 8k on a multi mount that I could use if I could get a 2" receiver hitch on this thing somewhere

I once took a receiver hitch for a full size pick-up, cut it down and flipped it over (so the female stinger tube was not hanging down) and welded it between the frame rails up front, it worked great for recovery and a multi-mount winch. super cheap and effective  and can be hidden behind factory bumper too.
