Spray on bed liner will do a good job of sealing up the
tub, as well as deadening the sound, just make sure you
prep the area good so the liner sticks really good

I sprayed mine inside tub with black Bullhyde liner. It deaden some of the sound. On the sides I packed in bats of polyfiber plastic like that is inside a waterbed. Then I covered them with the pvc black plastic panels.

After a cruise down the highway I found my tailgate to be the most noise making culprit. So I removed that pvc panel and shoved a bat of material into it. I also had to add a couple of screw to hold the panel tighter.

Then I found the door itself rattles against the tub. But I don't see any striker adjustment for it. For now I took a bungee strap and looped it through my rollbar to the door.

Anybody know of other adjustments? Hinges maybe?

Mines pretty quite now.... just hear the HUMMMMMMM of the tires .  ;D

I filled the tailgate with expanding foam, mostly to make it more
stiff so the 33" tire hanging off the stock spare mount won't
flex and break the steel skin of the tailgate, but I suppose it
helps with the sound issue also.

I can hear the difference in sound level of the tub just when
it's raining, the water gets in everything and quiets it some

LoL wild.

Gibson, just accept it.  These are noisy vehicles because they are bare basic and built from thin sheet metal.  I'll never get my zuk as quiet as my Navigator no matter how much dynamat I use...

Rattles and squeaks are what make these rigs special.  You could always drown it out with a killer stereo too, or take the top off and listen to the wind whipping by.

Think of it as an ATV;  would you dynamat an ATV?

I don't know about all of the models, but I have the JLX and it had
thick mat things stuck in spots I guess to reduce the noise levels

One thing i did that really helped was grab some sticky door insulation (home depot) and put it behind the door panels on the door. i also shoved some insulation foam in there and that really eliminated a ton of rattles!

another thing, try locking your doors while driving that can help too..

HushMat works wonders. I can REALLY tell the difference on my 95 SideKick doors since I installed the peel and stick HushMat. Sounds more like my wife's Prius now, especially when I close the door hard.

Yeah I think it's worth it to do the bedliner and hush mat. I insulated my whole Tracker, doors, rear fender wells ( lots of noise comes from there ) rear floor, back door, everything I could get into and it makes a BIG difference. I used a roll of this sound deadining mat I got from JC Whitney, It's about 3/4" thick. I also used the stick on stuff for the rear fender wells where I have my 6x9's mounted, and same in the doors. Of course mine is a tintop, but I think anything will help on these rigs. Much quieter and more solid feeling especially the doors.  Worth it. I really want to do the headliner too someday. I saw a show on restoring old hot rods from the late 40's and early 50's, and as they were pulling one apart they found bunches of old newspapers inside the panels including the doors. Nothing new, all hot rodders want improvement!
The usual stuff, and 2nd generation Air to liquid intercooled TURBOCHARGER

I found this company called ... The Foam Factory... that sells high density  durable and flexible, waterproof closed-cell foam used for exercise matting, that you can get in 1/8" up to 2" thick & in sheets from 24" X 96" to 48" X 96" I am thinking of getting some 1/4" for the floor & sides, & 1/8" for the roof of my 4dr can be cut & glued in using a good spray glue.
Check it out.

Stop off at any craft/sewing store and get a large bag of poly fill and fill the space in the rear fenders. Most bedliners will also provide a minimum of deadening, but if you want the maximum of sound deadening then purchase some LizardSkin and spray the interior.

DO NOT use any adhesive backed sound deadening product like Dyna-Mat on the floor, I mistakenly used Dynamatt before I was properly schooled and this was the result in my Honda,

The entire interior was blasted of corrosion, Chassis-savered, LizardSkin applied(sound and thermal) and then MonstaLiner bedliner applied. The interior of the honda was tomb quiet after it was completed.
