Homemade Front Bumper

ThoughtI would make a new bumper since the brackets on the stock one were broke and I had it held on with a tie wrap,I can see now I have made it a total of about 4" to long and will set about shorting it soon. I made it out of 2x6 3/8 tubeing and welded on my tow brackets and reciever hitch and also made caps for the ends so I could put my chain in it. Me and my copilot will cut it down a little and put some paint on it and cvall it done ;)

nice I like it. wish I had access to a welder or knew someone that would do it super cheap for me if I got the material.

Not too shabby. When I read the part about you welding on the tabs for a towbar, I couldn't help but wonder " Why is he posting a picture of a bumper for a Heep?" on here... I am not used to having to use a towbar, but all of the Heeper crew around here seems to love to tow their rides for some reason... Sorry, it was what came to mind.

LOL Its a heep with 250,000 mile on it that has the habit of breaking down when ever it likes,the clutch is on its last leg right now and it knocks a little in the morning when it cold so I know the tow bar will get pressed into service before long. ;D

I use a reconfigured vw beetle towbar only to tow behind my motorhome, it's works great because you can only get so far into the bush with the MH and the zuki gets you everywhere else, especialy hunting.

I like your new bumper.... it looks to be somewhat similar to a lil red rig in my driveway. Nice job!

man thats some good skill. wish I had skills for making stuff like that or even the tools and space. my landlord is very anal about anybody having anything in our carports other than our vehicles or even people working on their vehicles, shes even complained when I had my old hard top off and sitting behind my samurai for 2 hours while I worked on it.
