So my cuz has a built out 2.0 that he says hes put about 2500 into but doesnt need/want it anymore and would sell it to me for 1000.  My biggest questions are:

1.  Will it work
2.  Will it fit
3.  does anyone make somthing that i can use to bolt the engine to the transmission
4.  If im going to do the 2.5" exhaust, would this be the time to doit

Yes, do it, you will need the injection system and the computer
to run it, so keep that in mind if your cuz is keeping the car and
not the engine.

Samurai, found a company that makes an adapter for about 500.  its an engine that he built to put in his car but decided to go a different route and basically sitting on a palat. 

also tryin to figure out the cheapest way to get there (riverside, ca from colorado).  best i can figure goin to get this and the bumpers done while im there would cost me about 2100 before i rent a trailer and food, and random parts needed

hes sellin me the engine for 1k gas will be i estimate to be about 500 (driving a 5.3L Chevy Z71) and bc the bumper i used to tow my samurai fell off(damn you whoever welded it on) i cant flat tow it so id need to get a uhaul trailer or something

Are you going to get the VW 2.0L? I would like some feedback< I'm considering the same conversion.
I found a nice engine, I just dont have the money for the conversion. Any idea on cost for the conversion

my cousin just picked up the gas engine yesterday, ended up walkin away with it for 550 with clutch/flywheel, the entire harness , ECU etc.  the conversion kit(plate that allows you to connect the sami tranny to vw engine) is 425 here: http://www.acmeadapters.com/store_engine.php

As for everything else im not sure yet.  My cousin is gonna tear down the engine to see what needs to be replaced, at the least it'll be seals and such just to prevent probs in the future.  Ill try and keep a tally in my build thread of $$ spent

I know this is a dumb question but o well, I assume my top speed will increase but with 6.5 t-case i know it drops, so what do you think i can expect (fyi the power will be ~135hp ~140ft tq)

Your main problem isn't going to be power but gearing.  If you want to see what your projected top speed is you can build your SJ on a transmission calculator.  I use the one at http://www.solemnwarning.net/transmission/ but there are a couple more out there that work just as well.

Just put in your redline, select the transmission and transfer case combo and go.  Since it was made by a brit you will need to select the SJ series.  SJ-413 for your Samurai 5 speed.

so supposedly my top speed right now is about 50.  after the swap it'll be about 65
