Hey new to Samurais. question bout rebuild kit
« on: August 15, 2010, 03:54:49 PM »
Hey im going to be getting a samurai soon because i always wanted something to offroad with and have fun in the snow. I am not new to modifying vechicles at all. I have a 1995 nissan 240sx in which i have a fully built motor with lower compression pistons and the works. Now im trying to do the opposite with the zuk and go with higher compression pistions. Im trying to stay away from a turbo set-up. Heres a link to a site who offers a cam, weber carb, paces setter header and everything to rebui;d a zuk with high compression pistons. its says 10.1. However he does not state a brand name for the pistons which i find weird. How could i check and see if they are a good brand? Here is the link to the rebuild kit. The guy also offers it all built up for about double the price. I rather do the work myself but if i talk to my engine builder and its not worth it ill buy the whole engine. heres the link to the kit  http://www.22re.com/main/suzuki/hipropackkit.htm

That's a nice kit, but it has too much in it that
you really don't need, just get the pistons and
have the rods rebuilt, grind the crank if it needs
it, you could be on your way for a lot less $$

If you want to look at what can be done to build up a 1.3 you might want to check out Sammy Pro.

He jumps on the board from time to time and seems knows his stuff.  :)
