Carburator Vent Tube?
« on: June 27, 2010, 06:39:35 PM »
I've had my Samurai for about a year now and no hesitate problems till recently.  Few weeks back I noticed that after the Samurai gets warmed up I start to have hesitation problems.  I can jump in it and take off no problems until she gets warmed up and I have to stop and start again.  Does the clogged vent tube problem mainly show up after truck has warmed?  I'm fine with fixing it if needed, just hate to waste time and money if this isn't my problem.

Thanks

Sounds more like a clogged fuel filter to me.

Let us know if that fixes it.  Sounds like a possible vaccumn problem with the carb not adjusting properly.  I don't work enough with the Hitachi carbs to know for certain though.

I was having problems with my 87 and solved quite a few by buying a 12' roll of vacumn hose at Ace Hardware and replacing almost every vacumn hose that I could find. Several looked good but were a loose fit at the connection. Helped a lot.
