my tranny (manual)whines alot.  mostly 1st and 5th gear.  in fifth it goes away over 3600 rpm.  pilot is pretty new and throwout and clutch are only 2yrs old......  other than the noise it seems fine, fluid level, smell, no slippage etc. are ok. ???   any ideas ???

Check your rear diff and rear axle bearings. I've run across that very problem in many zukis over the last few years.

If you push in the clutch and it goes away Its probabally a bearing in the trans. Ive had quite a few go out. Its actually kinda common.

tranny may last for ages with a whine.its not a bad tranny to strip and rebuild and bearings can be obtained from a bearing shop.you will need pullers to remove the old bearings, and its best to refit new bearings with a press if possible.
factory manual has full instructions.
god must love crazy people,he made so many of them!!!

LOL!! That hook is going away soon. I bought a Warn XD 9000 winch for 200.00 used and that was the hook on it. I will be ordering synthetic winch cable soon from Master Pull.

I don't blame you for wanting to miss the Screeeeeee kapow!! It wasn't pretty. the red in the pic is covering up the gear oil. (yes we cleaned up the oil and packed it out with us) I rode all weekend on a trail ride with it making aweful noises. Heck, most people thought that it was my fan belt squeeling. that is how bad the noise was :-/

I WOULD CHECK YOUR REAR PINION SEAL AND ALSO CHECK TO SEE IF REAR END HAS GHREASE IN IT. MY TRANNY WAS MAKING ALOT OF NOISE AND I GUESSED IT WAS ON THE WAY OUT BUT SURE ENOUGH THE REAR END WENT, FORTUNATELY A BUDDY OF MINE HAD AN EXTRA CENTER SECTION AND WAS NICE ENOUGH TO INSTALL IT FOR ME!! ;D
