Okay so I've been doin some thinking lately (I know, pretty scary when I tell people that)
and I'm starting to think that instead of ARBs front and rear (and the Anvil housing, etc.) that I would much rather just do a rear locker and call it good.  Because a rear locker has got to be just what I'm looking for, and the price is definitely right.
The 4.24 low gears and a rear locker would take me almost ANYwhere that my tiny 30" tires can handle.
I don't care to lock up the front, I'd rather leave it open for 100% street driveability and keep my aluminum front diff and not risk breaking it.
So my question is:
what rear locker options are there out there for a Sidekick or Tracker?  
I know there is the Powertrax Lock-Rite.  The "side gears" or "couplers" are meant to replace worn side gears, correct?  How would I be able to tell before taking the whole thing apart?
But is there anything else?  
Is a Samurai locker the same as a Trackkick rear end?
What about Detroit EZ lockers...I know they made them and I saw them for sale somewhere recently but can't find them anymore.  Does anyone have a part number on the Detroit EZ's for a rear, that way I can search for them?
MINE is a 90 Geo Tracker FYI.

EDIT: forgot to mention.  In the past year I've had this Tracker, it's seen over 75% street driving, so not wanting a full-time spool.  But, I'd still like to hear how you like your spool if you got one.

theres only one option in my opinion. WELD IT. a properly welded diff is much stronger that a lock right and also more predictable.

Welding is for off road only in reality, and as far as stronger, uhh
there are some other problems the axles have with a welded setup.

I have never needed couplers, might like to try it sometime, but I've
put together at least 8 lockers and they all worked fine with the stock
side gears. Just get a locker and enjoy the difference, it will amaze you

I ran an EZ locker in the rear of my kick for years, on 29's and never had an issue. You will motice a huge difference in where you can go... After you find yourself wanting more out of the vehicle, then upgrade to a locker in the front. With your 90 models manual hubs, you can unlock the hubs and will never know the locker is in there on the street. Running 30's you should have little or no housing/CV issues unless you drive it really hard. The rear should hold up with no issues.... BTW, the EZ style lockers do take a little getting use to during tight turns and parking lot maneuvers... But it does not take long to realize, clutch in, on the gas or off the gas during tight turns, if you change from one to the other you gonna get some bucking....

Do you have any part or reference number from Detroit/Eaton so I can look up to see if anyone still sells them?
My 03 Silverado, as with any Chevy I've driven in, has the G80 RPO.  I'm used to a rear locker...just gonna be a little different in a short-wheelbase Tracker than an extended-cab, full-size pickup truck.  Although I love taking a really wide left turn at 40mph on a rainy night in that truck and giving it throttle ::)
BTW my 90 had auto hubs, but I swapped in manuals for flat tow purposes

I think if anyone is not using it then they must remove it from their. It gives ugly look also.

It's been a long time since I installed them and I do not have any referances for you... sorry...

Wow, I did not know the 90's came with auto hubs.... cool.

If I remember correctly, one of the companies (detroit I think) quit producing them for our Zuks..

FYI... When physically looking at the Lock Rite and the Detroit EZ Locker during install, there was little difference in them..

I forgot to mention... I ran the Lockrite in the Rear of my kick and Detroit in the front with a modified Samurai Carrier..

Everything I've read about them is pretty positive, including that they don't clunk like lockrites are reputed to...

In a recent e-mail (this week), Linda told me that the Lockright (1510 or 1530) for the Samurai is virtually the same as the Sidekick/Tracker (1512 or 1532) Lockright, and that the Spartan locker is the same too.

They will work for the rear of a Tracker if you get the larger splines.  No-go for the front though unless you switch to a Sammy carrier.

I wouldn't know about either of these.  Seems like it'd be easier to just get the Lockright FRONT that Trail Tough offers rather than swapping more parts from a Samurai.

Any one know who makes the Spartans?  Is it Yukon Gear?

hello i installed a rear lock right on a 00 vitara auto trans and this transform the vitara no loss power, great improve.

install first the rear locker and proved off-road then think if you need the front locker, my two cents

I've also been checking KAM Diffs website in the UK for awhile looking for updates since it said Tracker/Sidekick (Vitara) rear difflocks would be out in 2010...
I e-mailed and they said:
"The diff locker kit will be at least then end of the year."
So until then...it's kicking around the idea of a KAM in the rear of my Tracker...which would be awesome.
Yes, expensive.  But, in my mind, worth the wait...
we'll see how much longer until it comes out.
