replacement struts?
« on: April 19, 2010, 06:16:06 AM »
my 90 kick has over 330,000km and ive always wondered if the struts were gone in it, well. this last weekend we went and test drove another kick we are buying with 160,000km and yep, there GONE!

wondering what is a good replacement (i daily drive it and take it offroad over some pretty rutted and potholed gravel roads) so i dont care for anything stiff. i would just order the OME kit, but i dont have nearly enough money to do that right now. (were picking up that kick for almost the same price as that kit)

I liked the KYB struts, and I have got some cheap replacements,
I blow they out all the same, I think you could just get inexpensive
replacements and call it good, OME would be a softer ride, and they
do have a built in lift (strut mount flip) for better articulation but the
price is a little high so pick your poison  ;)

If want to spend the extra, pick up the Bilstein struts.  With stock suspension the ride is far improved over standards struts and you don't have to worry about them blowing out after a good weekend in the hills.  :)

Yeah, those Bilsteins look beefy, but I'd still use a limiting strap. What blows 'em is topping out to hard.
