Hey duders....long time no see!
« on: March 21, 2010, 05:44:50 PM »

Well, as some of you may know...I sold the Tracker.  :-[     It was tired and abused....and didn't have much left to give.  I'm going for a completely different approach this time.   I bought a truck that will be a much better daily driver, that I can do some modifications to.  And maybe next year I'll buy another zook and make a REAL trail rig.

Got myself  1995 Ford F-150. It's a standard cab. 2 wheel drive. I-6, 4.9 liter. 5 Speed manual trans. It has 118k miles. NO rust. Runs 110%.

Here's some pics of the truck...

With the other toy in the back.

I can't afford to buy pre-made suspension kits with forged equal length beams or anything crazy. I'm calling this a very mild "streetrunner" style of prerunner truck. I've pretty much a noob at this, but I'm not an idiot. I know I have a lot to learn...so please do share your thoughts.

This build is done on the cheap, with parts I've sourced from local junkyards and newspapers. Things I can't buy cheap....I'll figure out how to build myself.....like tubular bumpers for example.

Here's a list and some pics of the parts I've collected so far.....

BLING Bilsteins!

That's a pair of Superlift radius arms....one slightly bent one. A pair of 6" lift coils. A drop pitman arm. I-beam drop brackets. Cost for all that was less than $100.

The shiny Bilsteins pictured cost $320 shipped.

And NOT pictured are rear lift blocks that are currently elsewhere. They cost $80.

As far as I know....I just need to extend my front brake lines...and I can install the lift. Don't think I'm missing anything else, except some fat 35" tires.

The lift is PHASE 1. Phase 2 will either be body work and paint.....or a new ring/pinion and a locker. We'll see.

Please do comment and share some thoughts/opinions/ideas.

Thanks for looking!

Hah!  Good one E!

I just realized the pics aren't working....for me anyway.   I just copy/pasted most of my thread from another forum....one who can appreciate the Ford.   :P

I'll just delete those links and attach some sweet pics tonight sometime.
