seat covers
« on: March 08, 2010, 12:43:58 AM »
Anyone know where to find them? 90 Geo Tracker, LSi.  The LSi is a PITA for covers since the rear is a split bench/bucket, they look like miniature buckets.  How about the front, to cover just below the headrest?  Any luck anyone?

Junk yard... Replacement seats?

No one has any covers specifically for the Sidekick/Tracker seats that I know of. Generic seat covers may work for you.

The only seat covers I've been able to fine that'll fit a Trackick seat are from either Pep Boys or Auto Zone.  They fit the short bucket seats with a seperate headrest ok, but as with all seatcovers, it's just an ok fit. I don't know why but my seats get pretty dirty, especially since I eat and drink while I'm trailing. At least these come out easily and can be thrown into the washer. About $29 a seat and there sold seperately at Auto Zone.

I've tried those but haven't found anything that is even close...haven't checked all my options yet either.  I've still gotta shop around a few more places before I consider having some custom-made.
Hey, if I got some custom-made...would anyone be interested in buying a set?  Maybe I can get a discount on more than one set if I can get 10+ sets on order ???
If you're interested, post here.  Just a thought.

I have had a set of sheep skin covers I bought at Costco for under $50.  They have lasted for years and still look and feel great!

I got a set made out of wet suit material and they stretch to
fit, not great but they cover the seating surface from dirt

I forgot to mention early on I swapped out my stock seats for Corbeau sport seats. Great comfort and support, but the seat covering material is crap. It's a soft, black cloth, almost like those micro fibre cloths, and attracts dirt and lint and anything else that happens to float into the truck. That's the only reason I use seat covers to begin with, easier to clean than the material that came on the seats.

Ah well there's a store on eBay that makes custom covers.  I found many places online that sell full front and rear covers, but they're replacement upholstery, not slip-on covers.  The eBay store said they have patterns for my front and rear buckets no problem.  They're expen$ive but it's worth it to me to have them fit right.  I'll post pictures when I get them so yall can see how they turned out.

Seats across the entire Tracker/Sidekick range will swap over as long as you stay with the correct generation.  I have the blue plastic seats from Summit, I think they work great.  A lot nicer for long days if you get the seat cover, but it takes out the weather proofing of the straight plastic seat.

Unless you want to drive in the rain with the top down I would look at the Racetrim seats from Jeep Swag at http://www.jeepswag.com/empi/buy2/  I am putting them in the race rig, plenty comfy.  Alternatively you can check out craigslist or some racing seats and modify your existing mounts to work.

Years ago I bought rear seat covers for my 89 sidekick JLX (split rear seats).  They fit great.  Unfortunately, I can't remember where I got them. ::)  If I was guessing....probably either walmart or jc whitney.
Tracker and Sidekick parts for sale.....PM me with your wants/needs.
